“We were so proud to present the second and final tower for this project which provides residential, office and retail space, as well as parking to Downtown Redmond,” said JMA Principal Katerina Prochaska, senior manager of the project. “This project has been years in the making in partnership with Cosmos Development Company, and we believe the design will be a strong contribution to the fast-growing community.”

Plans for the urban renewal

development began in 2012, but were delayed as developers waited for Redmond to grow so the project could be a high-rise.

Tower B (South), approved by the board last week, will provide 265,694 SF of office space. Tower A (North), approved earlier this Summer, will be 185,000 SF with multiple roof decks and 208 residential units. Both towers will sit over a podium with ample public plaza space that is interconnected with public walkways at the Transit Center, Edge Skate Park and local streets.

The 2 towers, as designed, would sit between the Transit Center and the Village Square Shopping Center.

“We presented an interactive design intent for the lobby and the public plaza which has pedestrian access from different directions,” said JMA Designer Mahshid Gharibi who helped present Tower B to the board last week. “I think Redmond residents will ultimately see how this development creates a more livable and walkable community and provides much-needed housing options in a central location.”

JMA will work with city planning staff in the next few weeks on completing a Site Entitlement Plan for the entire project. Once completed, the next step is to move onto permitting, with construction anticipated in 2022.
