Tiny Homes Prove Importance During Pandemic
The City of Seattle fast-tracked the installation of a new tiny home village in the Central District to accommodate the homeless a few weeks ago.
“We commend the city for doing this as tiny homes are so important to keeping the homeless safe at this time.” said JMA Principal Katerina Prochaska. “We are also proud of our staff for volunteering with Sound Foundations NW, the amazing organization dedicated to building community and transitional tiny homes for the homeless.”

Sound Foundations NW was already in the process of ramping up production when the virus hit. In mid-February, City Council passed an ordinance allowing up to 40 more tiny home villages. At 35-50 tiny homes per village, that is a total of 1500-2000 more tiny homes.
