JMA to Transform Hospitality Industry with Modular Design
JMA recently designed modular prototypes for Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), specifically their Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Avid brands.
“Our firm is at the forefront of the modular design movement and it’s exciting to show potential hospitality clients how modular design can transform and streamline their business,” said JMA Associate Dan Rasmusson. “I’m proud to showcase some of our designs for IHG.”
IF YOU DIDN’T KNOW
The Modular Building Institute describes modular construction as a process in which a building is constructed off-site, under controlled plant conditions, using the same materials and designing to the same codes and standards as conventionally built facilities – but in about half the time. Buildings are produced in “modules” that when put together on site, reflect the identical design intent and specifications of the most sophisticated site-built facility – without compromise. In 2019 JMA received the organization’s Award of Distinction.
A modular building strategy can add value to a project in terms of cost controlling measures and speed to occupancy. Modular design and development move the decision curve forward in the design timeline similar to the shift toward Building Information Modeling.
