Rainier Avenue Project Continues Push for Attainable Housing

Multi-family housing developers Housing Diversity Corp. and Nitze-Stagen (collaborating under the name Oz Navigator) are working with JMA on an 8-story apartment building near Judkins Park.

“This project, located at 900 Rainier Avenue South, is one of several large-scale multi-family projects being proposed by these developers,” said JMA Principal Robin Murphy. “Rather than pay into the City of Seattle’s fund for affordable housing, Oz Navigator intends to provide the affordable units in the building itself, which is very unusual.”

Currently undergoing early stages of the Administrative Design Review process, the 257,112 SF building is expected to support a total of 396 units and 3 ground floor retail spaces. It will also include a rooftop deck, a 2nd floor courtyard space, and a 37,959 SF double-stacked automated parking garage.

“These apartments will be in close proximity to downtown, public parks, as well as multiple light rail stations, and an extensive bike path network.” said Murphy. “It is so important for Seattle to have affordable workforce housing in these types of locations.”
