Modern Designs Continue Enhancing Redmond
This Thursday JMA will continue its streak of improving the Redmond, Washington built community as the firm begins the city’s design review process for a new 102-unit apartment building.
JMA has designed the apartments on a unique trapezoidal-shaped property.
“This project will be across the street from Anderson Park and an 8-minute walk to the future Redmond light rail station,” said JMA Principal Robin Murphy. “It’s just another example of JMA helping to make Redmond a more comfortable and accessible place to live.”
The project will be next door to the Redmond Square Apartments designed by JMA, and a 13-minute walk from Alexan Central Park which offers modern apartments on top of the Downtown Park. Alexan Central Park was designed by JMA and named Multi-Family Urban Residential Development of the Year by NAIOP Washington State in early November.
“JMA also designed the Bell Marymoor Park apartments which give residents quick access to the Burke-Gilman Trail and Marymoor Park,” said Murphy. “It’s exciting to see our different projects collectively make such a big and positive impact on a community.”






The new project site (16912 NE 79th Street) is currently home to a 2-story apartment building built in 1961 as well as a house which hosts a barber shop and salon. The existing buildings will be replaced with a 5-story apartment building along with parking and bike stalls. The 134,000 SF building is expected to participate in Redmond’s Multifamily Tax Exemption (MFTE) program and offer at least ten affordable units.
