Cornus House | Tacoma, WA
Jackson | Main Architecture, P.S. (JMA) provided architectural design services for a 199-unit affordable workforce housing development with ground floor retail in Tacoma. The project was designed to transform a challenging site within a historically industrial area into a modern, community oriented residential environment.
The eight-story building utilizes durable, high-quality materials selected for longevity and performance while supporting a contemporary architectural expression. The mix of residential and retail uses contributes to neighborhood activation and supports daily needs for residents and the surrounding community. Cornus House is located within walking distance of the Tacoma Dome, the Sounder Train station, the South 25th Street Link station, the University of Washington Tacoma, McKinley Park, and a growing collection of restaurants and breweries. The project supports access to transit, employment, and education while reinforcing long term housing affordability within a rapidly evolving urban corridor.
